We manage in the region of 2000 homes on the Langley estate made up mainly of family houses and built in the 1950s. The homes were formerly part of Manchester City Council’s stock and transferred to us in 2002.
Following our merger with English Churches Housing Group, we have an additional 474 properties throughout Greater Manchester, Yorkshire and Lancashire.
Five Years Success
It’s hard to believe but it’s now over six years since we took ownership of the Langley Estate from Manchester Housing. When we took over we had a vision to provide quality homes, revitalize the area and, by doing so, transform peoples lives. Above all we wanted to make Langley a place were people wanted to live and bring up their children.
In many ways we have realised that Vision. However, we realise that there is always more we can do and many more improvements we can make to our service. We always strive for excellence and we look forward to exceeding our customers expectations during the next six years.
Some of the milestones we have achieved in the last six years have included:
- Invested £37.4 million in Langley
- Modernised 1924 of our properties
- Demolished 549 unsuitable homes
- Built 12 Elderly peoples bungalows for rental
- Introduced a Neighbourhood Warden & Junior Warden Scheme
- Increased opening hours at our Lingmell Close Office by ten hours per week
- Introduced a 24 hour Customer Service Centre
- Partnership with Lovell to develop 250 homes for sale
- Built 12 elderly peoples bungalows for rent
